We’ve waited an extra year for the Tokyo Olympics, which are taking place between 23 July and 8 August, 2021 – and thanks to our partnership with Visa, we’re celebrating with a limited-edition collection of five new Visa prepaid debit cards, inspired by this year’s Games.
The new cards, featuring the official Tokyo 2020 mascots and designs inspired by the host country, will be available to purchase until the end of the year.
As part of our campaign with Visa, we’re working with Team GB and Team Visa skateboarder and Gold medal hopeful, Sky Brown. Aged 13, Sky is the youngest competitor on the international circuit and is currently ranked third in the world overall. For most of her boarding career she didn’t have a coach – she learned tricks from the internet instead.
Sky says: “I’m so excited to be teaming up with gohenry as part of my partnership with Visa – I think it’s so cool that gohenry gives kids and teens their own Visa prepaid debit card. The way Visa and gohenry help inspire independence in young people to really go out there, experience the world and achieve anything is something that I’m totally on board with.”
There are five new Visa prepaid debit cards for kids in the limited-edition collection. Connecting to Tomorrow is one of the themes of the Games, so for three of the designs Visa blended elements rooted in Japan’s history, such as the samurai and the crane, with new inventions and a cityscape, to show how the past links to the present and future. The remaining two designs convey the joy and excitement of the Games through the use of the official mascots.
As we gear up for Tokyo 2020, we’re proud to be partnering with Visa to show our support for Team GB – and we’re excited to see Sky compete.
gohenry’s CEO, Alex Zivoder, says: “Our partnership with Team Visa and Sky Brown is an example of the aspirations we hope we encourage in our own customers through learning by doing. Sky is a skilled and professional young athlete who has inspired millions on her road to the Olympic Games. We’re excited to work with Visa to bring Tokyo 2020 and Olympians like Sky closer to our customers.”
